I lived in this house for 5 years (entire duration of my Ph.D.) . And, in retrospect, It was a wise decision. This house offers reasonably-priced rent with all utilities included. Also, this is not a party house, making it particularly suitable for graduate students. The location of the house is optimal, with less than a 10-minute walk to both campus and downtown. In my experience, all of my house-mates were nice and over the years I have seen many people come and go. Many of them were short-term exchange students. This exposure to people from diverse backgrounds added to my experience. Finally, the house owners are very nice and readily available to help fix anything if needed.

Not to be mistaken with the Ihouse. This place houses up to 11 students and is furnished including your own fridge. Flat-rate room/utilities (inc internet) which for the cost is a steal for a student. A bathroom on each floor except for the last floor which has 2 and a communal kitchen with your pantry/drawers section. Jeanne, Deb and her husband are lovely people, are very responsive and treat you like family. It’s not an upscale dorm but it has the charm you’d expect of an old Corvallis home. 7-10 minute walk to the library. Bike rack, paid parking, washer and dryer in the basement (not coin-operated). Quiet and perfect for the studious. Flexible contracts. I’d def give this place a shot again for my PhD.
